A Violence Intervention and Prevention Campaign from Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter

Children exposed to violence at home are more likely to experience violence as adults.

For more than 40 years, Ernestine’s has supported adult and child survivors of gender-based violence, recognizing that they can experience the same violence differently — and may need different kinds of support to heal.

That’s why we built Heal, Together.

Heal, Together gives parents, caregivers and trusted adults practical guidance to recognize possible trauma responses, know what to say or do, understand when more help may be needed, and find support for both their child and themselves.

Early support can reduce the impact of violence now and may also help reduce the risk of violence continuing into the future.

Heal, Together is supported by Ontario’s Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence.

Help us keep this work going

Heal, Together is one example of how Ernestine’s turns frontline experience into practical support for survivors and their communities.

Every day, we help adult and child survivors move toward safety, stability and healing.
