Shelter Program
Providing shelter for Women, Trans, Two-Spirit, Non-Binary, and gender-diverse people, and their children (if they have them), who are single or those with children who are currently experiencing abuse and need immediate shelter. The program helps Women, Trans, Two-Spirit, Non-Binary, and gender-diverse individuals, children, and youth heal from violence through counselling, child and youth programs, housing support, legal support, and more.
Outreach Support Program:
This program provides counselling, advocacy, food bank, legal, housing and resource supports to help adults and families who have experienced violence rebuild their lives. The primary goal of the program is to provide support to women and/or trans, Two-spirit, non-binary and gender diverse people and their children to find and secure affordable housing. In addition, the program counsellors plan and facilitate community workshops and special events.

How to help a loved one experiencing abuse
Learn the signs. Visit a trusted resource or call the Assaulted Women’s Helpline to understand red flags.
Listen without judgement. Be present and let them share at their own pace.
Ask, don’t direct. Offer help but respect the choices they make, even if they stay.
Stay connected, stay safe. Keep in touch but do not confront the abuser.
Seek guidance. Call a crisis line for support and practical suggestions.
