Raising awareness is important to:

  • Help women and children know what resources are available to them and how to access them.
  • Provide the community with more information on the issue of violence against women and children and how they can help.
  • Break the silence that is often associated with experiencing violence - helping those in abusive situations know they are not alone.
  • Change social attitudes around violence and working toward ending it together.
  • Understanding the connections between all forms of violence.

Representatives from Ernestine's are available to speak to your group about violence against women and children. Our representatives are able to provide your school or corporate event with information sessions ranging from: healthy relationships, understanding the cycle of abuse, creating fundraising initiatives, creating boys and girls clubs which support youth in speaking out against violence. These information sessions are interactive, informative and fun. Your group will leave our information sessions with new knowledge, insight and information that may save a life. If you are a Community organization and are planning a Community event our representatives are more than willing to participate at your event.

To book a speaker, please contact Deborah James, Outreach Child and Youth Counsellor at 416-743-1733 ext. 2038 or by email at cyoutreach@ernestines.ca.
