18th Annual Ernestine Affair

When: Thursday April 26th 2012

Where: The Old Mill Inn, Brule Rooms, 21 Old Mill Rd., M8X 1G5, Complimentary parking is available directly across from The Old Mill Inn. (www.oldmilltoronto.com) The Old Mill subway stop is just 2 minutes walking distance for those coming by public transit.

How: Tickets are again $100 and you are eligible for a $50 tax receipt. Tables seat 8 persons so don't be shy about inviting friends for a great evening supporting a worthy cause.

Who: Hosted by Sheila McCarthy with 2012 Ernestine Award recipient Frances Black and 300 old and new friends.

What: Dinner, silent and live auction.

Why: Proceeds in support of women and children fleeing violence.

The 2011 Ernestine Affair was held on April 27, 2011 at Woodbine Racetrack, 555 Rexdale Blvd. Etobicoke, ON

This evening fundraising event is our largest annual fundraiser. The event brings together over 250 individuals from the Toronto business and non-profit communities for dinner and auctions to celebrate the lives that are forever changed thanks to the work we do at Ernestine’s.

This year we raised just over $85,000 through sponsorship, ticket sales and our silent and live auctions.
Tish Iceton from CHFI 98.1 was the host for the evening.
The Ernestine Van Marle Award has been presented for the last four years to former clients who have been an inspiration to others. This award is to honour our namesake, Ernestine Van Marle, who died in 2006. Our 2011 Award recipient was Rebecca Big Canoe.
Our Presenting Speaker was acclaimed documentary filmmaker Laura Sky from Skyworks Charitable Foundation.
