In addition to meeting the basic needs of food and shelter, Ernestine's provides:

• Trained staff 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
• A 24-hour emergency telephone crisis line
• A safe and supportive community where women and children can assess their situation and plan for the future
• Support in obtaining welfare & housing.
• A children's program designed to give children a supportive environment where they can express themselves safely
• Crisis intervention, cooperative living facilitation, life skills coaching and outreach support
• When available, court escorts
• Access to cultural interpreters when needed

These services are provided free to residents and ex-residents.
